Today is the day that I have been waiting for. I left off on a bad note in my last blog post, but then I decided I needed to start this project and know that I can do it. I have come a long way and I am proud with how the video turned out. I hope you all enjoy it! Click the Instagram icon to see the video!!

Being quarantined has been rough on me lately. I thought that this project would go easier since I would have more time to do it, but I realized that I don't have all the resources I need to complete the project. This has been on my mind lately and here is what has been going through my head:
- I won't be able to have a good quality dance video since I a) don't have a camera and b) don't have an editing software. - The space I have now is not enough for my dancing. Doing it in my room is hard because I have zero to no space and in my basement there is a lot of workout equipment, toys, etc. that I can't work around. - When you usually dance you do it in a big mirror, I don't own one and I won't be able to see myself dancing to the music; a mirror can help me notice my mistakes as I'm dancing and I would be able to see how I can fix them. - It is getting close to the end of Genius Hour and I don't know what I am going to do about it. At the beginning of this assignment I was excited and ready to show off my dancing, but now that I don't have what I need to fulfill this project, I'm worried. My goal for this project was to have a creative choreographed dance and a well edited video, and I sadly don't believe I will achieve this goal. This first week of quarantine has kicked my butt. Not being able to go to the YMCA or the dance room at Davie High has been a bit challenging. I don't get to have the big space with the mirrors to be able to see myself. Having to be cooped up inside is the most difficult part of my project at this point, and also finding motivation to go and actually practice for the final project. ProcrastinatingI'm going to be honest, I haven't done much for this project yet. Last week was packed with softball games and I sadly couldn't find ways to work around that. This week I had plenty of time to practice or just work on something related to the project, but I don't feel the motivation to do it. It's a bad habit of mine and I always recognize it, but I don't do much about it. This time I am going to. I want to get stuff done for this project and have a great end result, but I need to put in the work. I will be working more on the project and finding ways to improve the space I have to better my rehearsal, mostly in my basement and moving things around for it to be more comfortable for me.
After posting the poll on my Instagram, I waited 24 hours until I got the final results for the voting. The results were: Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter -> 0 votes It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls -> 9 votes Juice by Lizzo -> 0 votes Adore You by Harry Styles -> 6 votes I will officially be dancing to, It's Raining Men, and I am excited to get started on the choreography for this dance!! I will now be updating more on my Instagram, @isabeldancesyall, with videos of me coming up with moves for the dance. Make sure to follow the account to stay updated on the journey! The BeginningWhen I first started this project, I'm not going to lie, I was a little scared. I love to dance there's no doubt about that, but having to present it to people is nerve-racking. Though I am nervous, I'm also excited that I get to go out of my comfort zone. I'm usually in my little safe space and I don't really get out of it much often, so this opportunity has been a great way for me to do something I love, while trying to be not so closed off. The Good from the BadFrom the start of this, I thought choosing the song would be one of the easier decisions. I have found out that it is harder than I planned it to be. It's becoming difficult due to the amount of songs I would like to pick from. Even so, the songs I do like, most of them have curse words in the lyrics. I've been trying to find ways to work around those songs and using the clean version. One example of a song is Juice by Lizzo; it's a song that I would really like to dance with but has only a few curse words here and there. Here are some of the songs I have chosen to dance with. All of them have a good beat and rhythm that I like, which is why it is so hard to choose between all of them The SolutionI have come up with a solution that will involve you. I will put a post a poll on my Instagram, @isabeldancesyall, and there you can go and vote for which one you would like to see me dance to. Getting your opinion would really be beneficial for me during this process and I would like to let y'all help me along the journey too!
